Shipping & Delivery Policy

Packaging & Shipping Expectations

Your brown/white shipping box and its contents will be meticulously packed by our shipping company. However, there might be instances where the packaging arrives to you with the contents inside scrambled or with damages on the outside of the shipping-box. If this occurs, please keep in mind that there is one main reason that it could occur outside the control of MMASI or our shipping company. Which is that USPS or UPS has the right to inspect any package they believe contain flammable material such has alcohol-based fragrances. Please see a summary of their policies below.

USPS and UPS Inspection Policies

  • USPS can inspect for prohibited and hazardous materials: They are looking for items that could pose a safety risk during transport. [USPS Terms and Conditions inspection].
  • Consent for Inspection on Specific Mail Classes: Generally, USPS needs a warrant to open First-Class Mail (letters and sealed packages). However, for other classes (like Priority Mail or packages without a secure closure), they may be able to open them:
    • If the sender indicates on the package that it can be inspected.
    • If they get consent from the sender or recipient.
  • Agricultural Inspections: USPS may collaborate with the Department of Agriculture to inspect certain packages for prohibited agricultural items.


UPS (and other private carriers):

  • Private carriers like UPS have more freedom. They can inspect any package according to their terms of service. UPS specifically reserves the right to inspect any package in their terms and conditions [UPS Terms and Conditions of Ground Service].


Product Box Protection

With this said, please also realize that the purpose of a shipping box is to protect the fragrance inside. Nice shipping box aesthetics is a bonus that is not mandatory for delivering your bottled fragrances intact. No refunds or resolutions will be offered to shipping boxes that are damaged if the product box is not damaged to the point of not being usable. If the product box is damaged to the point that it cannot be used to encase the fragrance bottle, then we will send you a new product box only as supplies last. If we do not have extra boxes available, we will send you a new product box as soon as we restock them.

Notification of Damage

We also ask that if your shipping box arrives damaged to please disclose it to us first within 7 days of delivery via support@mmasibrand.com. Please allow for 24-72 hours for a response excluding national holidays. Please note that you will also be sent a photo or video of your packaging prior to delivery. This puts extra labor on our staff members therefore, we cannot acknowledge nor accept any requests for additional photos or videos outside of the ones provided to you via email by default. The photo or video is not for aesthetic evaluation. It is simply to verify the general contents of the box and how the outside of the box looks prior to shipment.

Quality Control Issues

MMASI has set high standards for our packaging requirements. However, we are still at the mercy of 3rd party manufacturers who we trust to do quality control. And for most of them there are never any quality control issues. However, there might be 1-2% chance that the sticker labels will come off on its own after some wear. If this occurs, please let us know at support@mmasibrand and we can ship a new label with stronger adhesive. Please allow for 24-72 hours for a response excluding national holidays and weekends. No product packaging related complaints that do not affect the use or storage of the fragrance bottle will receive a refund. Complaints on marred aesthetics caused by transit alone does not constitute grounds for a refund.

Public Disclosure of Damage

We ask that you reframe from posting public videos of damaged shipping-boxes online, that is not due to negligence of MMASI or our shipping company. And if you must post about it, please give context as to what could have happened to cause such damage including possible opening inspection or mishandling of the box by UPS or USPS. This is ethical because it will provide a holistic and fair representation to potential customers that might exist in your audience. Assuming knowledge of what happened without communication or failure to provide a well-rounded analysis rooted in information directly from MMASI’s shipping company and possibly UPS/USPS themselves, could result in being excluded from any future partnerships with MMASI, indefinitely. And if your misrepresented post damages our reputation to the point where it affects our business without due cause, we have the legal grounds to file a defamation lawsuit against you.

Lost/Stolen Packages

We will give you a credit or refund up to $150, only once UPS/USPS has done an investigation to figure out what happened to the package. We can not refund the handling fees since that goes to our shipping partners for the labor they already performed on the shipped order. Please keep in mind that a claim resolution could take up to several weeks and the timing is outside of our control. We will also will give you updates on the claim status every 1-2 weeks until we have a conclusion. If UPS/USPS tells us that they could not recover the lost or stolen item(s), you can then initiate a credit or refund to yourself via this link. You can not request a refund or a free replacement in the middle of a case. We have to allow the claim to finish and we sincerely appreciate your patience in advance. Below are summaries of USPS/UPS claims process:

  • USPS:
    • Claim Processing: USPS typically takes 5-10 business days to decide on a claim [USPS claim processing time].
    • Missing Mail Search: Before processing a lost mail claim, USPS will conduct a Missing Mail Search, which can add additional time. There's no official timeframe for this search, but it can take weeks.
    • Payment: If your claim is approved, you should receive payment within 7-10 business days [USPS claim processing time].
  • UPS:
    • Claim Investigation: UPS investigates claims to determine if a package is truly lost. This can take 8-15 business days on average [UPS claim processing time].
    • Payment: Once your claim is approved and you provide payment paperwork, processing generally takes 3-5 business days [UPS claim processing time].
  • Overall:
    • Expect the entire process, from filing a claim to receiving reimbursement, to take at least a few weeks for both USPS and UPS.
    • USPS might take longer due to the Missing Mail Search step.

Here are some additional factors that can influence the timeframe:

  • Completeness of your claim: Ensure you have all necessary documentation like receipts and proof of value for a smoother process.
  • Reason for loss: Claims involving theft or damage might require additional investigation compared to a simple lost package.

Wrong Address: We fulfill then ship orders in 24-72 hours excluding national or cultural holidays. In a situation where you accidentally entered the wrong address before fulfillment, you can automatically update it using this link: www.mmasibrand.com/edits. This can only be done within the first 4 hours of shipment. Please also add sufficient information on the second line address field for the delivery personnel. Such additional information can include: apartment number, unit number, presence of staircase, side door, cross-street or anything else you think could help them locate your apartment or house. For deliveries outside the 4 hour window, please do either below via UPS or USPS. You can only reroute a package once it has been shipped. You will receive an email once your package has been shipped.

  • UPS My Choice: If you are the recipient and have a UPS My Choice Account (free to sign up for), you can attempt to reroute your package to a different address through their website [UPS My Choice delivery options]. This option may not be available for all packages, and it depends on how far along the delivery process it is. USPS:
  • USPS Package Intercept: Similar to UPS, USPS offers a service called Package Intercept for a fee. It will ask you to create or sign-into your USPS account (free to sign-up) before using this service. It allows the sender or recipient to redirect a package before it's delivered or attempted for delivery. However, there's a crucial detail: USPS Package Intercept can only be requested online, and only for packages with tracking or extra service barcodes [USPS Package Intercept details].

Exchanges

Anytime we give you the ability to request a refund, you will also have the option to request an exchange. Any unused money after an exchange is selected is refunded back to you by the method you select. Only 100 ml bottle can be exchanged.

Refund method options will include refund back to original payment used.

Ground-Shipping Only Policy

Due to the fact that alcohol-based fragrances are classified as hazardous materials, all our fragrance will have to be shipped via ground shipping which is the longest mode of delivery time taking anywhere between 2 days - 7 days. During anticipated gifting or holidays please plan to order 14 days in advance to avoid shipping delays. There will be no option for expedited shipping. Due to our limited staffing especially during the holiday season, any direct email requests to expedite shipping will not be acknowledged. Please keep in mind that although MMASI LLC is headquartered in NY, all deliveries will be made from the Texas facility of our shipping company. Depending on where you are located in the country, this will affect the delivery of your item(s). We can ship via airfreight but this step will take additional documentation and resources to become credentialed to do so. When MMASI is able to do so, we will send everyone an email.

Non-Compliance and Policy Enforcement

Failure to follow these rules and then become verbally aggressive with our company for not succumbing to your requests outside of our policy, could result in being banned from ordering from MMASI again. Please do your due diligence and review our policy ahead of time before purchasing. And if things do escalate a simple apology and changed behavior will resolve the misunderstanding without commotion.
